In a small U.S./Mexico border town, two teenagers drive through desert roads on their way to perform their summer job—picking up migrants who have just illegally crossed the border. As their ride progresses, they negotiate an in-between state oscillating amidst boredom and violence, adolescence and adulthood, Mexican and American identities, while living in tension as natural beings in a land controlled by manmade barriers.
