Jana Bučka's film about the cultural activities of people in a village near Levice. The Pôtoň Theater carries a strong metaphor of an island. It is an island of culture in the middle of cultural aridity. The environment in which they are set, i.e. in the small village of Bátovce, are a kind of probe into the mentality of Slovak people. In the middle of the harsh countryside, they create high and demanding art. Despite bureaucratic struggles, they create in freedom and uncompromising. Normal state institutions do not have such settings.
