That night, Junior shows up and tries to steal the book, but Nancy stops him, as she prevents his phasing ability from working on her. He then points a gun at her, and Yomiko pleades for him not to shoot--she says Nancy is his mother. In the confusion, Junior's gun goes off regardless...
