Lord Dalhousie deceives Gangadhar into believing that, in return for the British flag being reinstated on the commissary, he would maintain Gangadhar's rulership and give the merchants' money to him. Laxmi Bai threatens Ali Bahadur. Rao Dulhajao helps him escape.
